German American Chamber of Commerce in Houston

The German International School of Houston offers a German-English Dual-Language Preschool Program Monday-Friday for children 2-5 years of age in the heart of Houston, close to the Texas Medical Center.

GTHS is a cultural center that promotes the German language and perserves its cultural heritage in Texas through seasonal festivals. GTHS also offers the German Saturday School of Austin with language instruction for students between 3 and 14 years of age in Austin and San Antonio.

German International School of Dallas

German ISD is the only German language immersion program in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex providing full-time, weekday German language instruction to children 18 months to 6 years. The school provides a learning environment deeply rooted in the central European culture and education system. From day one, students are exposed to German language and culture in a warm and supportive environment. The staff follows the “German Kindergarten Philosophy”, which emphasizes the development of children in a holistic manner. The school focuses on learning through child-directed play experiences and curriculum based on the “Bayerischer Bildungs- und Erziehungsplan für Kinder in Tageseinrichtungen”. The German ISD leadership believes in the balance of play and preschool, which enhances growth and development of its children in all areas: physically, socially, emotionally, creatively and intellectually.

Houston Saengerbund

The Houston Saengerbund, founded in 1883, is the oldest musical association in the city. The purpose of the Society is to cultivate the furtherance of song and music, to preserve the German language, to promote the Society's life and to convey good German customs and morals.

German Honorary Consul for New Mexico

Mr. Stephan Helgesen is the German Honorary Consul for New Mexico. A wide range of  services is available from document certification to notarials and translations. Furthermore, you will find useful information about German events, German commerce and German cultural exchange in the area on the Honorary Consul's website. 

Please note that the Honorary Consul in Albuquerque does not issue visas nor accepts passport applications.
