400-Year-Old Books Return to Germany

Sixty-four years after the end of World War II, two 16th-century books, taken home by a young US soldier as a souvenir, are being returned to Germany. US veteran Robert Thomas turned the two works over to German Ambassador Klaus Scharioth at the National Archives in Washington, DC.

Minister-President Christian Wulff of Lower Saxony met with members of Congress and senior US Administration officials during his visit to Washington, DC. Wulff was accompanied by a delegation of approx. 50 business leaders and traveled on to Atlanta after having also visited Los Angeles and Houston.
