Ambassador Scharioth Presents George F. Kennan Commentary Award to Columnist Roger Cohen

Cohen, a columnist for the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune, was recognized for his analytical article entitled "German Angst" in the magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The award was presented during a reception for the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship program for journalists.
Waldsee German Camp Celebrates 50th Year

Ambassador Scharioth helped mark the 50th anniversary of Waldsee, the German-language immersion camp in Minnesota. During his visit, he launched the tour of the suitcase that will travel the US as part of the campaign "Echo 2010: the German Language Goes on Tour."

Are you interested in politics? Would you like to gain insight into the workings of German democracy? Every year, 120 young people from 28 countries have the opportunity to take part in the International Parliamentary Scholarship program in Berlin. The application deadline is July 31.
