Global Competitiveness Summit

In his speech, the Ambassador outlined the German Embassy’s Skills Initiative, which is aimed at enhancing skills training in the Charlotte region and beyond.

The Ambassador met with State Secretary Emily Haber and other officials of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin for consultations.

June 12

The Ambassador participated in a panel discussion on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Initiative. The panel was part of a symposium marking the 30th anniversary of the American Institute of Contemporary German Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Berlin. In the evening, the Ambassador attended a dinner hosted by the co-chairman of the managing board of Deutsche Bank, Jürgen Fitschen.
