Together with the Minister-President of the State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, Ambassador Ammon attended a guest concert by the Dresden Staatskapelle at the Strathmore Music Center, where the ensemble performed the music of the German composer Johannes Brahms.

For the improvement of the German American Friendship Garden on the National Mall, Ambassador Ammon signed a memorandum with the deputy superintendent of the National Mall and presidents of German-American associations, also activating a $100,000 trust fund to finance future maintenance.

The event honors the survivors and liberators of the Holocaust. This year, the speakers emphasized those who risked their lives to stand up for what was right.
