Appointments for Passport Applications
The German Embassy strongly suggests that you schedule an appointment in order to apply for a passport. Passport applicants without an appointment will have to wait for a free slot. The Embassy cannot guarantee that your application can be accepted the same day.
To make an appointment to apply for a German passport after March, please use our FREE online appointment system
All appointments are scheduled through our FREE online system. Once you have made an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with your reference number, and the date and time of your appointment. You will also receive information on what supporting documentation to bring. We recommend you read the information carefully in order to be fully prepared for your appointment.
If your name has changed because of marriage and you need to make a name declaration, or when you are submitting a passport application for your child and you want to register its birth, you have to come to the Embassy at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
Please note that these services start at 8.30 am, so please ask for a passport appointment after 09.00 am to allow for time to get these matters taken care of first. IYour appointment will be cancelled if you miss your assigned slot by more than 20 minutes.
Thank you very much.
