How to apply for a passport in Atlanta
All passport applications must be submitted in person. Due to a change in regulations in December 2009, there are no exceptions to this rule. You must schedule an appointment.
Please note: Passports issued before November 1, 2007 are valid until their date of expiration. If your passport is still valid, it is not neccessary to apply for a new passport!
How to Schedule an Appointment:
All appointments are exclusively handled by Abtran Ltd. This enables the staff of the passport section to concentrate exclusively on processing passport applications as quickly as possible. Please do not call the Consulate to make an appointment.

Opening hours for the appointment service Abtran Ltd. are Monday - Friday from 8.30 a.m. - 6 p.m. except for December 24, 25, 26, 31, New Years Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Please note: Some premium numbers (1-900) are blocked by employers and also by some cell phone companies. Contact your cell phone company to have the number unblocked. Alternatively, you may call the 1-800 number from most phones and pay via credit card.
The telephone numbers above are to be used for appointment making only (no advisement on the passport application process can be given). Once you have made an appointment, you will receive an e-mail with your reference number, date and time.

Passport Pictures
You may have your pictures taken at the Business Center of the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The Hotel is located right next to the office tower that houses the Consulate.
The Business Center is familiar with the correct size for the German passport fotos.
