The GISB is a young, dynamic school that celebrated its tenth anniversary in the summer of 2011. It is one of five accredited German schools in the US, offering a bilingual program in German and English. It educates students from pre-kindergarten to the 12th grade with the ultimate goal of graduating students with the German International Abitur as well as the MA High School Diploma.

Founded in 1874, it is the oldest language school in Massachusetts, teaching today more than 250 children from diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds on Saturday mornings.

The Boylston Schul-Verein offers Thursday German classes that have as their primary purpose to teach the German language and to introduce the cultures of German speaking countries to adults. The classes are intended to meet the needs of all adults 18 years and older who want to learn German or improve their proficiency in the language. Several levels of instruction are offered, including a class for beginners.
