World War I Museum

The German Ambassador and Consul General Hückmann met in Fort Leavenworth with LTG William B. Caldwell, IV, the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center - an installation often referred to as the „Intellectual Center of the Army“. Other stops on the itinerary included a visit to the National World War I Museum in Kansas City and an address to students at Rockhurst University.

The tradition lives on...  Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, Alderman Gene Schulter and German Consul General Onno Hückmann were among the honorary guests at the 2009 Steuben Parade in Chicago. More than 60 floats, marching bands and German-heritage clubs made their way through the Lincoln Square neighborhood, the heart of Chicago's German-American Community.

Classes for children ages 3, 4 & 5 (pre-school and kindergarten years) started on September 8, 2009.  The private, non-profit school is located in Chicago's Ravenswood/Lincoln Square neighborhood. It will provide a comprehensive education for students of all backgrounds and nationalities.

The St. Louis Tower Grove Park Director will be honored on Sept. 26 in Saint Louis, MO. The Award is named for the famous 19th century German immigrant who served as a Civil War general, newspaper publisher, U.S. envoy to Spain for President Abraham Lincoln, U.S. Senator from Missouri as well as Secretary of the Interior under President Rutherford.
