Consul General Ricarda Redeker was on an official visit in San Antonio on Friday, September 19, 2014.

This summer, for the 39th time, the University of New Mexico presented in consortium with California State University Long Beach its German Summer School of New Mexico.The total immersion program in German Studies is designed to help intermediate and advanced speakers to achieve near-native fluency.
Not only does the Consulate General have new faces in our Houston office, the GACC South Houston has also acquired a team member.
Meet & Greet
Dr. Manuela Roeller and Professor Herbert Roeller have spent a half century in Houston, Texas and are making the journey home to Germany, but not before they bequeath their extensive collection of German literature.
Consul General Ricarda Redeker provided the opening speech to the 5th Annual TOWER Conference on Tuesday, September 9th. The TOWER Conference in coordination with the GACC and TWEC focused on the wind energy industry and on uniting the industry leaders and experts globally.

On September 6, 2014 Consul General Ricarda Redeker and Ms Julia Ibold (ZfA) presented students of the Deutsche Samstagsschule Houston (German Saturday School Houston) with the German Language Certificate of the Education Ministers Conference.
On September 4, 2014 Consul General Redeker attended the premiere of John Neumeier's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Houston Ballet. Mr. Neumeier, an American choreographer and artistic director of The Hamburg Ballet since 1973, is one of Europe’s most highly regarded dance makers. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work.
The Goethe-Institut invites high school students who are interested in science to discover Germany! Twelve talented young scientists will have the opportunity to travel to Germany from November 28 - December 7, 2014 and learn what it has to offer.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, for the first time the entire ring road in Leipzig will be turned into an area of art projects among which visitors can move around. Along the historical route of the demonstrators light, sound and video projections, dance, performance and music will establish and challenge relations between 1989 and 2014.
