Nina Jasmin Petrow, was appointed as the Honorary Consul in San Antonio, Texas for the German Consulate General in Houston on Monday, September 29, 2015. She is succeeding Honorary Consul Ben Buecker, who has served in his position for the last 14 years.

Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program

The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program is a distinguished transatlantic initiative that offers fifteen accomplished Americans the opportunity to complete a comprehensive professional development program in Germany. Fellows are from the fields of business administration, cultural management (ex. museum, theater, orchestra), journalism, law, non-profit, public policy, and urban planning. Happy 70th Birthday Honorary Consul Bernard J. Buecker!

On September 4th Honorary Consul in San Antonio Ben Buecker celebrated his 70th birthday and Consul Jochen Olbricht from the German Consulate General joined him for this special occasion.

The German Air Force in Holloman, NM

Since 1992 the German Air Force has been stationed at the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, which also is the HQ of the German Air Force Flying Center since 2013, and is currently under the command of Col. Heinz J. Ferkinghoff . The Alburquerque Journal reports on the German Air Force's impact on Holloman.


Farewell to our Deputy Consul General

On July 24, 2015 Deputy Consul Clemens Kroll had to leave his posting in Houston after 3 years of having worked here at the German Consulate General.

On Sunday, July 12th the Taos German Summer School proudly celebrated its fortieth anniversary with an outdoor Fruhschoppen (picnic) for its students and special guests who came from as far away as California to help celebrate the occasion.

All German Passports, ID Cards, Visa Applicants and Certifications of signatures and Affidavit of support, need to arrange for an appointment in order to hand in their applications. Appointments can only be made online. Every family member needs a seperate appointment.

Important Information – Visas for Hungary and Austria


The German Consulate General Houston is accepting visa applications for Austria (residents of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas only) and Hungary. You will find more information about the Visa requirements on our website.
