The IPS program of The German Bundestag gives well-qualified young people with a strong interest in politics from the USA, France, Israel and Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe and the Arab world the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Germany's system of parliamentary government. Through fifteen-week placements with Members of the Bundestag, participants are introduced to the wide variety of tasks carried out in a Member’s office. Scholarship-winners are chosen by the Bundestag’s independent selection panel.

News from German Air Force Flying Training Center in New Mexico

When German Consul General Ricarda Redeker visited the Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) in New Mexico on March 14, 2016 she could see for herself, the excellent cooperation between the US and German Air Force. A large part of this success can certainly be contributed to Colonel Heinz-Josef Ferkinghoff, Commanding Director of the German Air Force Flying Training Center at Holloman AFB, who will retire at the end of May 2016.

The Basic Law, which is now the Constitution of Germany turns 67 years today, March 23, 2016! The Basic Law is the legal and political foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany. After it had been approved by the Parliamentary Council, the Basic Law came into force on May 23, 1949. The Basic Law was originally thought of as a temporary solution and provisional arrangement until such time as a constitution for the whole of Germany could be drawn up.
