German Consul General and Managing Director of the German American Chamber of Commerce in Houston (GACC South) visit BASF’s Freeport site in Southeast Texas

Following-up her tour of German companies in the administrative district of the Consulate General, Consul General Ms. Ricarda Redeker, accompanied by the Managing Director of the German American Chamber of Commerce in Houston (GACC South), Mr. Sven Langenau, accompanied by members of the Consulate General visited the BASF manufacturing site in Freeport, Texas.

The BASF Freeport site - one of BASF’s six Verbund sites - was founded in 1958 as BASF’s first manufacturing site outside Europe where nowadays 24 different products (raw materials used to make products people use every day such as diapers, fertilizers, food packaging, paints, carpets and more) are produced in 25 plants.

The German delegation was welcomed and briefed by Mr. Christopher Witte, Senior Vice President of BASF Corporation and General Manager of the site in Freeport and senior staff members.
