GAIN is a flourishing network of German scholars and scientists in North America. GAIN was created to improve the flow of information on current career opportunities at German universities, research institutions and in the private business sector. The annual convention, frequent workshops and a monthly newsletter, form the basis for cooperation and exchange, on both a professional and personal level. GAIN is a joint initiative of the most renowned names in the German science landscape, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG), as well as a number of associated members, including the German Rectors' Conference, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, the Leibniz Association and the Max Planck Society.

One way GAIN facilitates exchange is through local Stammtische. If you are a German scholar currently in Southern California or Colorado or an American scholar who has been, or is going, to Germany, why not  join one of the Stammtisch meetings to have fun, talk, meet people, network, exchange information and stay up to date.
