The state of Bavaria’s California office was established in 1999 and is headed by Dr. Lucie Merkle. Working closely with the state of Bavaria’s Ministry for Economic Affairs and primarily with Invest in Bavaria, the office helps companies based in California, Oregon and Washington to locate and prosper in Bavaria. The office provides services tailored to the needs of individual companies and their sectors; and facilitates R & D projects and exchange programs involving both regions’ business and technology communities.
