For the next 3 months, the Consulate General will be home of a new art exhibition featuring German Artist Detlef Peters. On Tuesday, March 19, the Consulate General hosted an opening reception where guests enjoyed some of the impressive art works of Mr. Peters while being treated to an array of German appetizers, German beer and wine. One big surprise to the artist and most of the guests was the visit of German Comedian Otto Waalkes who resides in Florida during the winter months.

Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has launched the "Schools: Partners for the Future" Initiative. Its goal is to build up a worldwide network of at least 1000 partner schools through which to awaken young people's interest in and enthusiasm for modern-day Germany and German society.
