As springtime approaches, children look forward to finding colorful eggs and candies hidden in a garden or left behind in a basket by the Easter Bunny (Osterhase). Surely this intrepid bunny is bolder than an "Angsthase" to venture out to so many different places.

For the next 3 months, the Consulate General will be home of a new art exhibition featuring German Artist Detlef Peters. On Tuesday, March 19, the Consulate General hosted an opening reception where guests enjoyed some of the impressive art works of Mr. Peters while being treated to an array of German appetizers, German beer and wine.
One big surprise to the artist and most of the guests was the visit of German Comedian Otto Waalkes who resides in Florida during the winter months.

Together with the Mayor of Ft. Myers, Randy Henderson, the Consul General of Germany Eva Alexandra Countess Kendeffy opened the exhibition of German Artist Heidi Schmitz, featuring aquarelles and acrylic paintings at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Ft. Myers.
