During the visit of the State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Meyer-Krahmer, a memorandum of understanding with the Califonia Institute for Regenerative Medicine was signed on September 17 in San Francisco. Germany and California are planning to explore possibilities for the promotion and mutual funding of collaborative reseach projects in the field of regenerative medicine. These projects aim at finding new methods for the cure as well as the treatment of injuries and cronic diseases.

On the occasion of the visit of a Delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs to California, the Federal Republic of Germany and the California High Speed Rail Authortiy signed a Memorandum of Understanding on High-Speed Rail Transportation on August 28, 2009 in Sacramento.
