Bundesliga Season Culminates in Win for Wolfsburg

If you had tipped VfL Wolfsburg for the Bundesliga title at the beginning of the season, you would have been declared crazy. Even Wolfsburg’s coach Felix Magath admitted that before the season he never would have thought that it were possible. But on Saturday, May 23, Wolfsburg won the championship for the first time in their history.

The youth hostel - the brainchild of a German teacher out on a summertime hiking trip with some of his students - celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2009. The first permanent youth hostel in the world was a 12th-century castle in the western German town of Altena.
