Reconstruction Aid - Health
Since 2005, over 1,000,000 patients have been treated in basic healthcare projects in northeastern Afghanistan funded by Germany. Together with other partners (Japan, Norway, Sweden), Germany finances the rehabilitation of the regional hospital in Kunduz, the provincial hospitals of Balkh, Takhar and Badakshan as well as selected district hospitals. Germany also supports the training of doctors, nurses and midwives.
