It is compiled by Ecofys and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. The first issue focuses on challenges for the electrical system which result from expanding the use of renewable electricity generation in the United States and in Germany. This includes, for instance, the mismatched availability of renewable sources and electricity consumption. This issue highlights how different best practices in the two countries are successfully addressing these challenges.
