Language and Education

Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Do you speak German?

Engaging with the German language encourages dialogue, exchange and cooperation between people and cultures. The German Missions in the United States work with many institutions, including the Goethe-Institut, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), American Association of Teachers of German and Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA)—as well as individual teachers, students, and Deutschbegeisterte—to support and promote the German language in the USA. Just Add German

Just Add German.

We know that learning any foreign language brings amazing benefits, so why should you pick German? We think German is a great choice if you’re interested in any (or all!) of the following:

  • boosting your college and career options
  • learning about German history and culture
  • standing out from your peers
  • making new connections, and having fun in class

Just Add German is a campaign of the Goethe-Institut. Its goal is to show how German as a foreign language is beneficial to students, families, careers, as well as a great way to open doors to new opportunities.
