The fall of the Berlin Wall cleared the path for German unity, but it also unleashed a political earthquake whose effects are still being felt across the world.  Europe's expanding horizons, the breakup of the Soviet Union and the prospect of a world with one superpower were just a few of the after-effects.

On November 2, 2009, a panel of key players in 1989, including former Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft, and former Berlin Mayor Walter Momper will give their account of Germany's happiest hour and discuss how it has shaped today's world.

This taping at the Newseum in Washington, DC will be streamed live on Germany.info at 10:00 AM EST.

The program is a joint effort by the German Embassy, Deutsche Welle TV, the Bertelsmann Foundation, the BMW Foundation and the Newseum.

This presentation is the third and final installment of a three part series to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
