On September 27th, the German Consulate General together with the Department of German Studies at Emory University organized an Election Party with Live Television Coverage from Germany.

About 70 people met at the Woodruff Library on the Emory Campus to watch the incoming results and the analyzes of the 2009 Bundestag elections. Many of them had sent in their votes via absentee ballot and were eagerly awaiting the results.
Although the outcome was already certain when the polling stations closed at noon Atlanta time, most people stayed, discussed the outcome, and watched the interviews with the politicians until about 3 p.m.
