The concert will start with the "Mendelssohn Symphony"  No. 4 in A major, an orchestral symphony written by German composer Mendelssohn.  Then witness the "Freedom Symphony", Dr. Subramaniam's strong melodic and heroic symphonic composition, which uses text from four different Indian languages. The Freedom Symphony will feature music favored by Mahatma Gandhi - "Vaishnavo Janatho" and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's patriotic "Song of Freedom", among other moving texts. Seetaa & Ambi Subramaniam will also be featured in this performance.

Dr.  L. Subramaniam, "the God of Indian Violin" is the serenity of an Indian musician combined with the magnetism of a western star. Constantly propelled from Los Angeles to Paris, Singapore to Sydney, he has conquered every audience with the elegance and virtuosity of his style. He has produced, performed, collaborated, conducted and released over 200 recordings and has established himself as a force that is strongly Indian, but universal in nature and approach.

The Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2000 by committed musicians. It forms an integral part of the musical life in the City of Leipzig and Germany. Highlights include events at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Berlin Philharmonic Hall and the Leipzig Academy of Music and Drama "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy".
