German-American Business Community Welcomes New German Consul General Onno Hückmann in Chicago

More than 100 members of the German-American business community, several members of the Chicago Consular Corps and representatives of the Office of the Mayor of the City of Chicago welcomed the new German Consul General, Mr. Onno Hückmann, at a reception organized in close cooperation with the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACCoM). The event was hosted by Deputy Consul General Roland Herrmann and took place at the premises of Drinker, Biddle and Reath LLP.
Consul General Onno Hückmann took up his duties in Chicago on August 3, 2009 after completing a one-year tenure as Harvard Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University, Cambridge. curriculum vitae

For decades, the German Consulate General in Chicago and the German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest have enjoyed close ties. GACCoM, founded in 1963, is an integral part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) with 120 offices in 80 countries around the globe. Its continuing mission is to further, promote and assist in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States, especially the Midwest.
