On Thursday, January 21, Consul General Wolfgang Drautz and Legal Consul Ulrich Fischer traveled to San Diego to bid farewell to Honorary Consul Annette Zillgens Goldman.

Ms. Goldman, after nearly four years of service as honorary consul for the San Diego area, is stepping down from her position in order to spend more time with her young children.

In a private ceremony at her office, Consul General Drautz thanked Ms. Goldman on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Consulate General in Los Angeles for her years of valued service and wished her all the best for the future.

The many duties of an honorary consul include helping to promote German-US relations in their region as well as assisting US and German citizens in matters related to Germany.
