Speakers from Germany and the US, including local politicians, scientists and managers from business and industry associations informed about state-of-the-art solar technology in Germany, the legal prerequisites for a market for solar energy and the opportunities for a Sunshine State like Florida to make increasing use of it. The Texas office of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. had organised this conference already twice in the past years, the response was never as great as this time. In his opening speech Consul General Klaus Ranner reminded of the Transatlantic Climate Bridge initiative, initiated by the German Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Environment Protection and underlined the success story of solar energy in Germany.
