On the occasion of Germany's National Day, the Mayor's Office Protocol invited  Consul General Peter Rothen and members of the German community to a flag raising ceremony  on the Mayor's Balcony at San Francisco City Hall. The Director at the Mayor's Office of Protocol Matthew Goudeau handed Consul General Peter Rothen a certificate proclaiming October 3 2009 to be German Heritage Day in San Francisco. Mr. Goudeau and Mr. Rothen then raised the German flag at City Hall where it was flying for one day from the Mayor's Balcony.
