In a press conference following his meetings, Mr. Wulff stated, among other things, that bilateral relations were better than they’d been in a long time. There was the closest possible coordination on numerous fronts. Above all, on the issue of climate and energy policy, the American side recognized the role Germany was playing, the minister-president stressed.  Not surprisingly, the topic of energy was at the center of numerous talks.  Mr. Wulff also urged U.S. officials to keep markets open and resist protectionist measures, particularly in light of the current economic and financial crisis.

Minister-President Wulff was accompanied by a delegation of approx. 50 business leaders and traveled on to Atlanta on Saturday, October 3, after having also visited Los Angeles and Houston.
