Team Germany at Solar Decathlon 2009
This years winners, Team Germany from Darmstadt University of Technology have been working for more than a year on their design, the surPLUShome, with the aim of creating a growing awareness of the issue of sustainability in building construction and to present renewable energies to the general public. The photovoltaic modules of the shingled facade and the units on the roof are able to produce twice the amount of energy needed for operating the whole house.
