do Deutsch - German Weeks Event Calendar

2011 Series of Events on German Culture and Language in the US

Germany and the United States are bound by deep friendship, common history, and shared values. The United States is among Germany’s most important international partners. Our friendship rests on a wide network of personal, political, economic, academic, and cultural relations. To keep this friendship alive we need to know and understand each other. Our common language does not, however, always have to be English.

In this series of events called the Deutschlandwochen, literally translated as “German Weeks,” the German missions and the Goethe-Institut locations in the US invite you to embark on the adventure of learning German, the most widely spoken language in Europe. We would like to pique your interest and curiosity in Germany, the German people, their culture, and their language. Come discover things German – German culture, art, language, philosophy, politics, and Germans themselves. Join us and experience Germany’s vibrant cultural life or try your hand at learning German – do Deutsch!
