Building on the success of the 1st German American Energy Conference in March 2009, organized by the German American Chambers of Commerce and the German Energy Agency GmbH (dena), this event will be taking place once again this year at the House of German Business in Berlin on March 22-23.

Clean and sustainable energy is an objective of the Obama administration and is a key issue for transatlantic dialogue. A growing awareness of energy security and the importance of climate protection along with the proactive stance taken by the new US government will contribute to an intensification of the economic of German American relationship.

The expansion of transatlantic economic relations in this area in particular offers German industry extremely interesting prospects. To be able to inform German companies about the general framework of the U.S. market and to provide useful information about market entry into the US, the German Energy Agency (dena) and the German American Chambers of Commerce (GACC) will be hosting the 2nd German American Energy Conference on March 22nd and 23rd.

This years theme is “Promising Markets for Renewables and Energy Efficiency”. In addition to the discussion about incentive programs on both federal and state levels in the USA, specific opportunities for cooperation, technological developments and pilot projects in the fields of solar, wind, and bio energy as well as energy efficiency will also be presented by experts from German and the US.

The two-day conference, consisting of several parallel events, remains the most important event for German industry in a transatlantic context for a sustainable energy supply.
