The German Consulate recommends:

"Berlin at the Wall" Art Exhibition at the DietzSpace Gallery

Twenty years ago, the Berlin Wall fell. The end of the Cold War. It is also remembered in New York. The DietzSpace gallery in Greenwich Village has invited the Berlin artist G.L. Gabriel to exhibit her city paintings. Over 20 years ago, she painted and observed the city from different perspectives. Gabriel is not interested in a photographically exact representation of the Wall. Her paintings capture the psyche, that is, the perceived impression of the city's many angles. The wealth of subjects is enormous: the aesthetics of decay, the course of the Wall along the banks of the Spree river with both parts of the city, abandoned factories along the strip of wall. Gabriel lives in Berlin, and her paintings can be found in major collections, such as the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, the German Parliament, Deutsche Bank, Allianz Insurance and many more.
