About The Golden Dragon
Translated by David Tushingham, directed by Serge Seiden
“Poetic, brutal, mysterious, and touching.” – Theater und Medien
Contemporary German theater seldom is seen in the United States. A kaleidoscopic look at a globalized world, this play by Roland Schimmelpfennig, one of Germany’s most innovative and
adventurous writers, unfolds in brief and fierce comic scenes. Five actors cross age, race, and gender to play sixteen characters in this vicious, poetic, and surprisingly moving investigation of how intertwined our lives really are.
Performances of The Golden Dragon run at Studio Theatre, 1501 14th Street NW, Washington, DC, from November 2 to December 11, 2011
