By hosting the Green Climate Fund in Bonn, Germany would like to make a contribution to the international fight against climate change and its impact. We believe we can offer the Fund an excellent environment for its operations: A number of UN institutions have already been established in Bonn and they have formed a truly unique cooperative network.

Germany is the second largest contributor to climate protection projects worldwide. The vast majority of German citizens, our politicians, researchers and entrepreneurs support the transformation of our energy system and are thus the backbone of our efforts to lead the field on climate protection.

Our proposal comprises a building meeting the latest ecological standards as well as an attractive package of financial support and privileges for the Fund and its staff. We are convinced that our proposal would enable the Fund to start work quickly and to efficiently finance the innovative projects required in the fight against climate change and its impact. The Interim Secretariat preparing the Fund's operations is based in Bonn.
