(© picture-alliance/dpa) Frankfurt is celebrating Jeff Koons, and Jeff Koons is celebrating a world premiere in Frankfurt: the Schirn Kunsthalle and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung are each devoting an exhibition to this exceptional American artist and his new series entitled "Antiquity".

Some of his classic works are also on view. The Schirn is focusing on Koons' structural development as a painter with 45 monumental pictures; at the Liebieghaus, Koons' sculptures enter into a dialogue with the historical collection.

Both exhibitions run through September 23, 2012.
