The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. (GACC South) introduced its new President and CEO on March 1, 2012. Ms. Martina Stegmeier, who was the Chamber’s Vice President and Director of Consulting Services in the past, has returned to Atlanta to take over this role from Interim President and CEO Stefanie Jehlitschka.
At the same time, the German Church Atlanta is happy to announce that they have a new leader as well. Pastor Andrea Rauch moved from Germany to Georgia to take over from Pastor Hako von Hacke and will be the head of the christian ecumenical congregation “Deutsche Kirchengemeinde Atlanta” for the coming years.
Consul General Lutz Görgens used the occasion to welcome and honor both ladies with a celebration at the Goethe-Zentrum. In attendance were more than 80 invited guests from various German-American organizations.
Another highlight of the evening was the award ceremony for the first recipient of the Boltzius Award, Mr. Wolfgang Krüger, the Director of the Goethe-Zentrum/German Cultural Center in Atlanta (see separate article).
