Defending their team title as champions of the Consular Soccer Tournament, Team Germany won against the Netherlands Team in the final match on Thursday, June 14th.

Organized by swissnex of Boston, the 4th Annual Consular Soccer Tournament hosted teams from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Israel, and Switzerland to compete against each other in 12-minute games at the Boston Athletic Club. Players from Boston’s main foreign representations and the Cambridge Innovation Center, and young Swiss entrepreneurs from swissnex’s Venture Leader program, along with many other individuals, comprised the teams. More specifically, Team Germany consisted of Consulate staff and German soccer enthusiasts of Greater Boston.

In a dynamic final match, Team Germany defeated the Netherlands 7-1, securing their championship title once again. The winning prize: Lindt chocolate and Swiss jazz music CDs!

We would like to thank swissnex Boston for hosting such a wonderful event, and we are eagerly looking forward to many more matches in 2013. Congratulations to the champions!
