Their lyrics were both performed by Young Voices Brandenburg on March 29, 2012. This very talented and refreshing group of singers presented Motown and German folk songs in exciting new jazz and pop arrangements.

After touring the U.S. for two weeks, the performace at Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston was the group’s final concert, which left a lasting impression on the audience.

The young singers, all between the ages of 16 to 24, performed a cappella, which made the evening even more special. Since the acoustics at Nichols Concert hall are exceptional, the concert was a pure indulgence for the ears. Young Voices Brandenburg Enlarge image Young Voices Brandenburg (© Germany.info/chicago)

Originally from Brandenburg in Germany, the harmonious choir succeeded in setting music to traditional poems and reviving old classics. They finished their performance with a classic lullaby, “Der Mond ist aufgegangen”, which created a reminiscent mood filled with many joyful childhood memories.
