He presented the 11 winning students of the "German Book Award" with German literature ranging from recent graphic novels to dictionaries.

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages offers the M.A. In World Cultures and Literatures, the Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Studies, French, Italian Studies, and World Cultures and Literature with concentrations in German Studies and many more.

It offers language instruction in German at all levels and a wide variety of literature, film, and cultural history classes taught in German (at the junior and senior level) as well as Core curriculum courses on German culture, film, drama, and literature (taught in English).
