Appointment of New Honorary Consul in New Orleans

photo Enlarge image From left to right: Newly appointed German Honorary Consul in Louisiana, Susanne Veters, former German Honorary Consul Paul Andersson and German Consul General Ricarda Redeker (© germany.info/houston) At a ceremony in New Orleans, on April 28, 2016,  German Consul General, Ricarda Redeker, officially bid farewell to our Honorary Consul in New Orleans, Mr. Paul Andersson. He has been our Honorary Consul for 17 years and is now retiring.

At the ceremony, Ms. Redeker also presented Mr. Andersson with the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and thanked him for his dedicated work and service throughout the years and for his commitment to Germany.

Ms. Redeker appointed Mr. Anderssons's successor, Susanne Veters, as the new German Honorary Consul in New Orleans. Ms. Veters is a lawyer focusing on labor and employment law. She has earned her law degree from Humboldt University School of Law in Berlin, Germany and her Master of Laws degree, with a focus on U.S. Labor and Employment Law and Sports Law, from Tulane University Law School.
