During her visit Consul General Redeker met with Colonel Gregory Keeton, Commander of the 80th Flying Training Wing of the U.S. Air Force and the German representatives Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Hullena and Capitain Matthias Poth at Sheppard Air Force Base.
The U.S. Air Force activated its 80th Flying Training Wing in 1937. However, it was not until 1978 that a Memorandum of Understanding established the ENJJPT. In 1981, the ENJJPT began training pilots and still is the world's only internationally manned and managed flying training program chartered to produce combtat pilots for the NATO alliance. Each year, more than 200 pilots receive their wing through ENJJPT.
