San Antonio commemorates "Volkstrauertag" (Day of Remembrance)

On November 13th, Deputy Consul General, Mr. Bernd Reindl attended the "Volkstrauertag" commemoration ceremony in San Antonio, TX at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetary.

"Volkstrauertag" is Germany's official annual day of remembrance. It is an important date both in political terms and for the public, a day for mourning the dead that also serves as a reminder of how precious peace is.

In attendance were the Beethoven Men's Choir of San Antonio and several guests. Mr. Reindl and Rear Admiral Thomas Ernst, Defense Attaché of the German Embassy in Washington D.C., laid a wreath in remembrance of those German soldiers that died in the U.S. as POWs.
