Farewell at the German American Social Club of Greater Miami (GASC)
More than 150 people, among them officials from the US Dept. of State's Office of Foreign Missions, the Consuls General of France and Spain, the German Ambassador to Port-of-Spain, the German Honorary Consul in Orlando and the Representative of the German Consulate General in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as Presidents and board members of several German Clubs in South Florida attended a farewell party organized by the GASC at its house in West Kendall. Major personnel changes at the Consulate General are imminent: Maren Wichelhaus, who was in charge of public and media relations and event management will move to Frankfurt; Petra Renner, who beside her many legal and consular tasks had taken care of the schools with German language courses, will go to Beijing; Barbara Zesewitz, the vice-consul in charge of cultural, economic and public relations and Klaus Ranner, the Consul General, who will leave for Dubai. Several speakers appreciated the quality of the team at the the Consulate General and underlined that the continuity will be upheld, not the least, because the new Consul General will be an old friend, former Consul General Eva Countess Kendeffy.
