The "Halfway to Oktoberfest" weekend of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival in Tampa, was a great success.
Lead by "The Landsknechts", a reenactment group representing the legendary elite mercenary troops of the early 16th century, the event drew large crowds.
German food vendors with specialties like, "Apfelstrudel", "Brezen", and original German sausages as well as German dance groups and German souvenir shops presented themselves to the patrons.

Inspired by the presence of the German Honorary Consul Norma Henning (seen with wire-dachshund "King Ludwig"), the Landsknechts demonstrated that despite small rain showers Germans know how to celebrate.
The German weekend concluded the eight week Renaissance Festival and will be back next year.
