Consuls General and Honorary Consuls Meet in Washington, DC

The German Embassy hosted a conference of all the German Consuls General and Honorary Consuls from across the United States in Washington, DC, from April 22 to 24. The main purpose of the meeting was the exchange of best practices among the consuls and dialogue with representatives of the German Foreign Office and with a number of German institutions in the United States. The topics this year were above all current political issues, strengthening German language education, the expectations of businesses and the broad spectrum of public diplomacy.
Ambassador Peter Ammon hosted a reception for the entire German Consul General and Honorary Consul corps at his residence on April 23.
