German goods totaling 94.6 billion euros were shipped abroad during the month of June. The Federal Statistical Office reported on Wednesday that this represents a 7.4 percent increase compared to June of the previous year. Imports have also increased in a year-to-year evaluation, by 1.5 percent to 76.7 billion euros. However, this is in contrast to the previous month’s results in which exports sank by 1.5 percent and imports sank by three percent.
According to the statisticians, overall sales for European Union countries declined in June by 0.5 percent; for the euro-zone countries, the decline was even higher, at three percent. Nevertheless, the demand for German goods from markets outside Europe showed a growth of 19.8 percent, clearly giving a boost to European numbers.
