Foreign Office Launches YouTube Channel
Leading the world in exports, promoting human rights, moving beyond atomic energy – Germany has many faces. Starting today you can see them on the YouTube channel of the Federal Foreign Office. Explaining Germany through moving images – that is the goal of the new Internet presence in the world’s largest video portal.

At the site, the Federal Foreign Office invites you to find out about Germany, its culture, politics and economy as well as about the work of the Federal Foreign Office. With videos in seven languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic), the new channel page of the Federal Foreign Office is targeting a worldwide audience.
Users can choose freely from clips in the various languages and switch between them. The videos can be rated by viewers and embedded in other web pages. Users can also share the videos via their social networks such as Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
Digital diplomacy
Since September 2012, the Federal Foreign Office has had a main Facebook page in German (www.facebook.com/AuswaertigesAmt) on the largest social network. Around the globe, more than 60 German missions are represented on the largest social network. On Twitter, @AuswaertigesAmt and @GermanyDiplo tweet short news messages in German and English respectively.
