growing PV industry

MAGE SOLAR launches its Solar PV training facility in North America. Starting January 24, a wide range of classes will prepare students with technical knowledge and job skills as well as solar specific sales and marketing knowhow for the growing PV-market.

German Night at the AG CONNECT EXPO 2011

On January 8th, the German Consulate General and the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC South) invited representatives of the 18 participating German companies at the AG CONNECT Expo and business leaders from the Atlanta area to a "German Night" at STATS in Downtown to exchange ideas and to mix and mingle with their industry counterparts.

Hettich America Celebrates Expansion in Buford, Georgia
|
|
Hettich America L.P., a global manufacturer of hardware for appliances as well as kitchen cabinets and residential furniture, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of its expanded U.S. operations in Buford, GA. The 150,000-sq-ft facility brings 100 jobs to Gwinnett County.

Andreas Kocks Exhibition: "Momentary Suspension" in Atlanta
|
|
The SCAD exhibitions department presents "Momentary Splash," a solo show featuring a site-specific cut-paper installation, as well as watercolors and two-dimensional studies by internationally renowned artist Andreas Kocks.
|

Walter Cumming: The Art of Reconciliation
|
|
American artist Walter Cumming cycled and sketched his way from Paris to Berlin, celebrating 65 years of peace between the two countries. His finished pastels and watercolors will be exhibited at the joint facility of the Goethe-Zentrum and the Alliance Française.

German Films at the 11th Atlanta Jewish Film Festival
|
|
Founded in 2000, AJFF ranks as the largest film festival in Atlanta, and second largest Jewish film festival in the United States. AJFF attracts an audience of more than 20,000 moviegoers, and features an international collection of some 60 narrative and documentary films that explore the Jewish experience. Screenings are supplemented by guest appearances with filmmakers, actors, authors, academics and other expert speakers.

"A Film Unfinished" at the Athens Jewish Film Festival
|
|
Yael Hersonski's powerful documentary "A Film Unfinished" achieves a remarkable feat through its penetrating look at another film - the now infamous Nazi-produced film about the Warsaw Ghetto. Discovered after the war, the unfinished work with no soundtrack, quickly became a resource for historians.
