Jon Valentine Receives Boltzius Award
|

Jon Valentine, Program Manager for World Languages and Global Initiatives at the Georgia Department of Education, was honored by Consul General Lutz Görgens as the second recipient of the Boltzius Award for his excellent work in promoting German language and culture.

New Honorary Consul in Mississippi
|
|
Consul General Lutz Görgens installed a new Honorary Consul to Mississippi, Mr. Peyton Prospere, a lawyer with the firm of Watkins & Eager PLLC in Jackson. He serves as only the second Honorary Consul for Germany in Mississippi.

University of South Carolina Upstate and Landshut University Sign Co-operation Agreement
|
|
The University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC and Landshut University in Landshut, Germany signed a co-operation agreement this spring. International business majors from both universities will be able to spend several semesters at the other institution.

Solar Solutions Conference, Memphis TN
|
|
The Solar Solutions Conference hosted by the Tennessee Solar Institute and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in Memphis TN on April 10-11, 2012 offered a high level program of national speakers, regional experts, industry updates, technology innovations and networking opportunities. It attracted more than 500 participants. An international perspective presented by Mr. Klaus Hoppe from Freiburg was made possible by the Transatlantic Climate Bridge Initiative.
