Dear Friends of the German Consulate General, Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter NYConsulate Events!
We would love to see you at our upcoming March events at the German Consulate General. We will host Marc Ohrem-Leclef's first US exhibtion "Cowboys and Indians," opening on March 27 at 6 p.m. and on March 29 at 6 p.m. pianist Evelyn Ulex returns to the German House with actor Hartmut Becker for "German Poets and Musicians on the Road." Both events are free of charge. RSVP required.
It's your last chance to see "Portraits by Photographic Masters August Sander and Seydou Keïta" on view at The Walther Collection Project Space."
Broadway Producer Ken Wydro's performance of SECRETS will be presented in German on March 16, 17 and 18 at the Mama Foundation. Watch our Facebook page to win a pair of tickets.

SECRETS by Ken Wydro (presented in German)

After a successful reading at the Austrian Cultural Forum, a theatrical performance of the original drama SECRETS by Broadway Producer Ken Wydro will be presented as a Showcase Production in German on March 16, 17 and 18 at the Mama Foundation in Harlem. There will be a Q&A session afterwards.

The Luxury of Distance, Scott Wiener's new exhibit of eleven large photographs at 92nd Street Y's Weill Art Gallery, uses as its starting point Theodor Adorno's statement, "To write poetry after Auschwitz is barbaric."

Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose
|
|
The Walther Collection presents Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose, the first solo exhibition in New York of photographs by the British-Nigerian artist, featuring large-scale color and black-and-white portraits from the late 1980s. The exhibition, on view at The Walther Collection Project Space from March 23 through July 28, will focus on the influences of exile, religion, sexuality, and death on the artist’s last works.

The 2012 Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival: Faces of Others features the German/Swiss film "Joschka and Sir Fischer" by Pepe Danquart on March 30.
