Kino!2012 is right around the corner. The MoMA's annual survey of new German cinema runs from April 23-May 2, opening with "Lollipop Monster." The German Consulate hosts the duo Ariadne Daskalakis, violinist and Anthony Spiri, pianist of the Transatlantic Music Project on April 26. Free admission. RSVP required. Marc Ohrem-Leclef has received some great praise in La Lettre de la Photographie for his exhibitoin currently on display at the German House. Have you seen it yet? Be sure to catch Cowboys and Indians before April 27. We hope to see you at one of these events!

Ariadne Daskalakis and Anthony Spiri are two unusually captivating musicians whose collaboration brings forth new interpretations of the sonata repertoire. Daskalakis and Spiri are both Americans whose musical educations led them each on an odyssey to Europe. They met in Cologne, Germany, where they are both Professors at the Cologne Conservatory for Music and Dance, the largest conservatory in Europe. They will perform on April 26 at 6 p.m. Free admission. RSVP required.

Cowboys and Indians- First US exhibtion of photographs by Marc Ohrem-Leclef

The German Consulate General New York hosts Marc Ohrem-Leclef’s first US exhibtion, “Cowboys and Indians.” The exhibtion will be on view from March 27 through April 27, with an exhibition opening on March 27 at 6 p.m. Free admission. RSVP required.

Co-hosted by Deutsches Haus NYU, this panel discussion will address the Eurozone crisis of 2011 and its consequences for the future of Europe. Co-hosted by Deutsches Haus NYU, this panel discussion will address the Eurozone crisis of 2011 and its consequences for the future of Europe. The conference will open with an address by the EU ambassador to the United Nations, followed by a keynote speech by historian Charles S. Maier. Panels will address transnational governance (Peter A. Hall, Damian Chalmers), diversity in societies (Erik Bleich, Martin Schain), and external relations (Jutta Joachim, Holger Moroff).

2012 Whitney Biennial
|

Sculpture, painting, installations, and photography- as well as dance, theater, music, and film- will fill the galleries of the Whitney Museum of American Art in the latest edition of the Whitney Biennial. With a roster of artists at all points in their careers- younger and older emerging artists, others at midcareer, and some who are wellestablished- the Biennial provides a look at the current state of contemporary art in America.

Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose
|

The Walther Collection presents Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose, the first solo exhibition in New York of photographs by the British-Nigerian artist, featuring large-scale color and black-and-white portraits from the late 1980s. The exhibition, on view at The Walther Collection Project Space from March 23 through July 28, will focus on the influences of exile, religion, sexuality, and death on the artist’s last works.
